High Quality Professional Development Activity Checklist
High Quality Professional Development focuses on what teachers need to know and be able to do to ensure that all students are able to achieve academically. Use this checklist to determine if your presentation will qualify for CLUs.

This checklist aligns with No Child Left Behind requirements and National Staff Development Council criteria. Begin your review of a potential professional development activity by responding to the following key questions:
Yes  No 1. Is the expected outcome of the activity to improve/increase teacher content knowledge of the academic subjects he/she teaches?

Yes   No 2. Is the activity aligned with and directly related to the Louisiana State Academic Content Standards and Grade Level Expectations documents?

Yes  No 3. Is the activity an integral part of school-wide and district-wide educational improvement plans that are based on current data?

If you have answered YES to each of the above questions, proceed to the next set of more specific criteria to further determine if the activity meets high quality standing.

Select each item that describes the professional development activity. If each of the six boxes in the left is marked, the activity addresses criteria of High Quality Professional Development.
