Requirements:

  1. Middle School Classroom Teacher                                                                        
  2. Member of LMSA

Guidelines for Applying for Award

  1. Portfolio containing the following:
    1. Resume
    2. Copy of Current Teaching Certificate
    3. Philosophy of Teaching/Education (no more than 1 page, double spaced, 12 pt font)
    4. Professional Development Information (last 3 years)
    5. Honors/Awards/Recognition
    6. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (at least one from current administrator)
    7. One (1) Lesson Plan with 2-3 student samples
    8. Reflection of lesson

     

  1. Unedited Video/DVD
    1. 20 – 30 minutes
    2. Should be of lesson that you included in portfolio

     

  1. Place all material in a three-ring binder and send to:

 DEADLINE FOR APPLYING:  MARCH 25, 2011

The LMSA Outstanding Teaching Award winner will be notified before the 2011 LMSA Conference and will be recognized at the conference luncheon.  This person will receive the following: free registration and lodging for the 2012 LMSA Conference in Baton Rouge, (1) Classroom Performance System-compliments of Einstruction, (1) Laptop Computer-compliments of Dell, and (1) Document Camera compliments of Troxell Communications.
